Innovation in Education Administration based on the Makerspace Process

Abstract

This academic article explores the Makerspace process, a relatively new and significant phenomenon in educational settings. Makerspaces have the potential to revolutionize the administration of educational institutions through innovative methods, enhancing the efficiency of management under the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) quality system. This system emphasizes participatory teaching, thorough evaluation, and effective knowledge management within the organization. By fostering a collaborative environment where individuals with similar interests can creatively exchange knowledge and work together to produce innovations, Makerspaces serve as a catalyst for educational transformation. The Makerspace process represents an educational innovation aimed at empowering students to construct their own knowledge. It promotes a new approach to teaching, where educators act as facilitators of learning. This innovation in management is designed to enhance students' use of design thinking, fostering skills development and creativity. It specifically aims to improve students' innovation skills in three key areas: innovation skills, communication, and participation. These goals align with the principles of learning by doing and student-centered learning. Educational institutions that adopt the Makerspace process can develop their capacity to enhance innovation skills, communication skills, and teamwork participation. Consequently, the Makerspace process constitutes a novel approach to educational institution management.
