Basic Concepts of Conversation and Improvisation in Jazz

Abstract

The academic article has an intention to present the relationship and comparison between conversation and improvisation, including many examples of them. The article also gives the definition of improvisation and introduces some basic ideas of it in order to apply and join in ensemble. Furthermore, the article describes how to develop and create the improvisational melodic line for generating the unity. In addition, the final part of the article offer some practice of licks to be able to create a variety of improvisation for playing as a perfect conversation.
