Solo Cello accompanied by Piano and Orchestra Performances and Analytical Notes

Abstract

The creative research in performance practice – Solo Cello with Piano and Orchestra accompaniment: Performance and Analytical Notes – aim to analyze and to interpret composition works for solo Cello with Piano accompaniment and works for Cello with Orchestra accompaniment. Furthermore, the research investigates an appropriate way to perform these sample works; Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3 in A major, Op. 69, Seven Variations for Cello and Piano in E-flat major on “Bei Männern welche Liebe fühlen” from Mozart’s the Magic Flute, WoO 46 composed by Beethoven. Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano (arranged for Cello) in A minor, D 821 composed by Schubert and Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 33 composed by Tchaikovsky. All of these selected works have its own history which raised up Cello’s techniques. This research aim to analysis of performance practices. Therefore, the research describes the music in terms of interpretation, planning of practice individually and with ensemble.
