Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process of Rangsit Music Journal (RMJ)

The peer review process of Rangsit Music Journal (RMJ) ensures the highest quality and integrity in scholarly publishing. The process involves the following steps:

1. Submission
Authors submit the manuscript file, along with all necessary figures and tables, and complete the required information via the ThaiJO system.

2. Initial Editorial Review
The editorial board evaluates the manuscript to ensure it aligns with the journal's aims and scope and adheres to the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts must include all required sections, be clear and concise, and meet the journal’s standards. Incomplete or non-compliant manuscripts will not be considered, and authors will be notified through the ThaiJO system.

3. Peer Review
The editorial board appoints three reviewers from institutions different from the author’s to conduct a double-blind review. The review outcomes determine the manuscript’s progress:
          - If at least two reviewers approve, the manuscript advances to the next stage.
          - If fewer than two reviewers approve, the manuscript is rejected.

The review process may result in the following outcomes:
          - Acceptance without revision.
          - Acceptance with requested revisions.
          - Rejection.

Authors will be notified of the review results through the ThaiJO system.

4. Revision
If conditionally accepted, authors must revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ recommendations. The revised manuscript, with all necessary materials, must be submitted along with clear indications of changes made. If authors disagree with reviewers' comments, they must provide reasonable explanations. The editorial board may submit the revised manuscript for re-review by 1-2 experts if deemed necessary. Failure to address the recommended revisions adequately may result in rejection.

5. Final Editorial Review
The editorial board performs a final review for typographical and formatting errors. Additional inquiries or suggestions will be communicated to the author for confirmation. The editorial board reserves the right to make amendments related to layout, writing style, and reference format without prior notification. Authors may be contacted for further clarification, potentially delaying the revision process.

6. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript.

7. Copy Editing & Artwork
The journal conducts copy editing and prepares artwork, which typically takes 1 week per article, processed in the order of completion from the previous stage.

8. Proofreading & Final Correction
Proofreading and final corrections take place, with a timeline of 1 week per article, processed in sequence.

9. Publication
The complete process, from initial submission to publication, takes approximately 4-5 months.
