Peer Review Process

The peer review process of Rangsit Music Journal (RMJ) ensures the highest quality and integrity in scholarly publishing. The process involves the following steps:

1. Submission
Authors must submit the following via the ThaiJO system:

          - Article Submission Proposal Form
          - Manuscript file in PDF format
          - Manuscript file in DOCX format
          - Proof of payment
          - Human Research Ethics Approval (if applicable)

All necessary figures, tables, and required information must be included to complete the submission process.

2. Initial Editorial Review
The editorial board evaluates the manuscript to ensure it aligns with the journal's aims and scope and adheres to the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts must include all required sections, be clear and concise, and meet the journal’s standards. Incomplete or non-compliant manuscripts will not be considered, and authors will be notified through the ThaiJO system. The official manuscript submission date will only be recorded once the article is correctly formatted according to the Author Guidelines.

3. Peer Review
The editorial board appoints three reviewers from institutions different from the author’s to conduct a double-blind review. The review outcomes determine the manuscript’s progress:
          - If at least two reviewers approve, the manuscript advances to the next stage.
          - If fewer than two reviewers approve, the manuscript is rejected.

The review process may result in the following outcomes:
          - Accepted: Proceed to 5. Final Editorial Review
          - Revision Required: Requires modifications before further consideration (see 4. Revision)
          - Rejected: The author is notified of the decision.

Authors will be notified of the review results through the ThaiJO system in approximately 4-6 weeks.

4. Revision
If revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript based on reviewers’ feedback and submit the revised version with clearly indicated changes. If authors disagree with any comments, they must provide justified explanations. The editorial board may request a re-review, if necessary. Failure to adequately address revisions may result in rejection. This process typically takes 6-8 weeks.

5. Final Editorial Review and Decision
The editorial board conducts a final review to ensure the manuscript meets the journal’s standards for content, formatting, and references. Any necessary inquiries or suggestions will be communicated to the author for confirmation. The board reserves the right to make adjustments to layout, writing style, and references without prior notification. Following this, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. This combined process typically takes 2–3 weeks.

6. Author Proofreading
Once accepted, the copyedited manuscript is returned to the author for final proofreading within 2 weeks. Authors are responsible for carefully reviewing the formatted version to identify typographical or factual errors and improve any low-quality figures. Minor revisions may be made at this stage, but no major changes will be accepted.

7. Final Corrections and Publication
After the author submits the final proofed version, the journal completes any necessary corrections and prepares the article for online publication. The final article is then published on the RMJ website as part of the current issue. This final process typically takes 1–2 weeks.

The Entire process takes approximately 4-5 months.
