A Study Condition of High School Wind Band’s Performance of Thailand at Present

This research article aims to study condition of high school wind band’s performance of Thailand at present. The sample group used in the study is 278 people of high school wind band teachers in Thailand. Focus on 2 areas of study: 1) Condition of performance skills of Thai secondary school students at the present 2) Condition of the potential of wind orchestra conductors in Thai secondary schools at the present by using the data studied to create a questionnaire tool, which contains questions in the form of Likert rating scale from the value level 1-5 starting from the lowest level - the highest level and then analyze the results to find the mean and standard deviation. From the research results, it was found that the condition of the performance skills of the students the 4 sub-areas consisted of 1) The basic skills of performance with a total mean of 3.40 in a middle level 2) The technical with a total mean of 3.20 in a middle level 3) The tunning with a total mean of 3.11 in a middle level and 4) The musicality with a total mean of 3.15 in a middle level. As for the condition of the potential of the teachers who is a conductor, there are 2 sub areas consisted of 1) The knowledge and understanding of music theory, literature and music history with a total mean of 3.61 in a high level and 2) The conducting skills, band controlling with a total mean of 3.53 in a high level.
