Abstract

            The objectives of this research are to 1) study the motivations for pursuing a diploma in terms of personal, occupational and image reasons of Champasak vocational technical college students, 2) compare the motivations for studying towards the diploma level. For personal, professional, and visual reasons, champasak technical college students with different backgrounds, The sample used in the research was 260 first-year diploma students, based on a proportional stratified sampling. The instruments used in the research as questionnaires, 40 five-level estimations, questionnaires with a classification power value (r) of .341-690, and a total confidence value of  0.83-0.89. The statistics used in the data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, and  One-way Analysis of Variance  (One way ANOVA)

           The results showed that:

  1. Students are motivated to pursue a Diploma in Vocational Technical College

Champasak for personal reasons, occupational and image aspect at a high level ( x̄ =3.80, x̄=3.58, x̄=3.52, respectively). 

  1. Male and female students, and students studying different disciplines motivated for

further study Higher Vocational Certificate, Champasak Technical College personal reasons occupational and image, the difference was statistically significant at the .05 level. Students with different grades motivated to study for personal reasons and image, there was a statistically.
