THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRADITIONAL PERFORMANCE OF THAI YUAN IN SARABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to study the pattern, composition, and dance movement of folk performances of Tai Yuan, Saraburi. Also, to analyze the development of folk performances of Thai Yuan, Saraburi. The data was collected by searching for information, interviewing, and transmitting the performance from local artists at Ton Tan Temple, Thai Yuon Art and Culture Centre, Saraburi and Yonok Park Performing Arts Center, Ton Tan Sub District, Sao Hai District, Saraburi. Total number of informants 9 people. Unstructured interviews were used in which preliminary open-ended questions are set as a guideline for the interview. This research is a descriptive research paper by bring the results obtained from the analysis of all data are written in a descriptive analytical form. Also, link it in accordance with the objectives and go into the data analysis process, respectively.
The results showed that the folk performances of Thai Yuan, Saraburi, have a pattern of dancing in a parade style and use an unlimited number of actors voluntarily. The elements of the dress: Men prefer to wear a Mauhom shirt (kind of shirt in northern Thailand) with mandarin collar, long sleeves, a girdle, a cloth over the shoulder, and headdress. Also, to wear kind of shorts in Chinese style that made from indigo-dyed cotton. Carrying a tote bag. Women prefer to wear a sarong with a cross pattern. The top and bottom of sarong are red, black, or white. Also, to wear the sabai cross of the chest. Later on, developed into a sleeveless shirt with sabai across the left shoulder. Put up one's hair decorate with Dendrobium flower. Traditional dances created from lifestyles such as Tak-Khao-Tan Dance, Hern-We-ha Dance, Fun-Rai-Na Dance, Mea-Ka-Tak-Beek Deance. There has been a revival and development of the dances by Mr. Krit Chaisilboon at Yonok Park Performing Arts Center. Which brought the traditional dance process to develop and presentation on lifestyle by mixing traditional dance moves and Thai dance into parade style. Presented as a series of performances show continuously for disseminating Thai Yuan culture on various occasions.
