THE STUDY OF QUALITY DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINE ACADEMIC JOURNAL UNDER DHONBURI RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) to study the factors affecting the decision to publish articles in academic journals by authors, 2) to study the problems in the coordination process between journal staff and qualified authors, and 3) to explore ways to improve the quality of services provided by academic journals affiliated with Dhonburi Rajabhat University. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach with a focus on qualitative data collection. Data was collected through interviews with 3 journal staff members and 6 qualified authors affiliated with Dhonburi Rajabhat University, and through quantitative data collection using a questionnaire survey distributed to 222 authors who had submitted articles to journals affiliated with the university. Descriptive statistics used in the analysis included frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation."
The research results revealed that (1) factors influencing the decision to publish in a journal were simple and respectful service processes, availability of communication channels to reach authors, and timely issuance of acceptance letters for immediate use; and (2) service problems were encountered in each process, such as complex and time-consuming current journal systems, missing documents, delayed document delivery, incomplete document correction, incorrect article format and reference style, slow document return, and incomplete or uncorrected corrections. Moreover, payment processes also faced issues related to the publication and reimbursement announcements and the use of the same account for all document transfers, making it difficult to distinguish receipts. Finally, (3) quality improvement directions for journal publication at Dhonburi Rajabhat University included three aspects: (1) knowledge sharing on the use of journal systems, (2) improvement of coordination and service processes, and (3) management of documents related to academic journals.
