THE STUDY OF NEEDS ASSESSMENT ON THAI LITERATURE LEARNING MANAGEMENT UTILIZING LOCAL WISDOM FOR TEACHER PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS OF PHRANAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the needs assessment on thai literature learning management abilities utilizing local wisdom for teacher professional students of Rajabhat Universities. This research is based on survey research. Using qualitative research methods by analyzing structured interviews (structured interviews). The key informants for the interview were lecturer in thai language education 3 persons and expert teachers 3 persons. university advisors, and school advisors, totaling 7 persons. Using quantitative research methods, the data were collected by using the questionnaire about needs assessment on thai literature learning management abilities utilizing local wisdom for teacher professional students of Rajabhat Universities. There are content validity and average (3.67-5.00) by rating scale. The population in this research consisted of fourth-year teaching students in the bachelor of education program. Department of Thai Language, Faculty of Education, 27 people. Using the purposive random sampling. Data analysis will be conducted qualitatively through content analysis and quantitatively using mean, standard deviation, and modified priority needs index (PNImodified).
The results were as follows: Teacher professional students need to be promoted in the management of thai literature learning by incorporating local wisdom to enhance their abilities in thai literature education. According to qualitative data obtained from interviews with relevant stakeholders, it is suggested that managing the learning of Thai literature by incorporating local wisdom helps students understand the content of thai literature and comprehend the local context. In alignment with the results of the quantitative data analysis, the actual conditions have lower levels than the averages in the expected conditions for every component. When considering the prioritized rankings for each component, it is found that the component related to the situation of managing Thai literature learning and the component related to organizing learning activities using local wisdom have the highest priority level (PNImodified 0.11). Following that is the component related to the use of media in organizing learning activities using local wisdom (PNImodified 0.09), and the third-ranked is the component related to assessing and evaluating the ability to manage Thai literature learning (PNImodified 0.06).
