Abstract

This research aimed to synthesize the learning management procedures of Problem-Based Learning based on the STEM education approach in order to promote the creative problem-solving skills of Grade 12 students. The target group consisted of three experts in curriculum development and science learning management. The group used for analyzing learning activities comprised 36 Grade 12 students, selected through cluster random sampling, with the classroom as the sampling unit. The research instruments included a document analysis record form, an appropriateness evaluation form for the Problem-Based Learning management procedures based on the STEM education approach, and two lesson plans. The statistics used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation.
The findings revealed that: 1) the Problem-Based Learning management procedures based on the STEM education approach for promoting creative problem-solving skills consisted of five steps: Step (1) identifying the problem, Step (2) planning for problem-solving, Step (3) implementing the solution, Step (4) testing, and Step (5) presenting the product for further development; and 2) the synthesized learning management procedures were rated at the highest level of appropriateness (M = 4.96, SD = 0.22).
