THE TEACHERS’ ROLE TO PREVENTION FOR OVERWEIGHT STUDENTS OF PRIMARY EDUCATION IN BANG KRUAI DISTRICT, NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

          The purpose of this research  was  to  study 1) the relationship between social support from school administrator of teachers’ role to prevention for overweight students of primary education in bang kruai district, nonthaburi province, 2) the prediction variable of social support of teachers’ role to over- nutritional protection, 3) the nutritional  status of the overweight students. The sample consisted of 10 schools 125 teachers and 31 elementary students in bang  kruai district, nonthaburi province. The instruments used were questionnaire and student nutrition assessment form. Statistics for analysis are percentage, frequency, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The research findings were summarized as follows: 1) The relationship between social support from school administrator and teachers’ role to prevention for overweight students all Statistically significant positive correlations, there were the systems for prevention overweight students r= 0.520 at 0.05 level, the student nutritional surveillance r= 0.333 at  0.05 level, the school health promotion r= 0.466 at 0.05 level, and lunch preparation r= 0.304 at 0.05 level. 2) The prediction variable of social support effected of school administrators and  teachers’ role to prevention of child nutrition were R= 0.526, that can explain those variables were 27.7%(R2= 27.77) in addition, the relationship between social support and  teachers’ role  toward the school health promotion R= 0.505, that can explain those variable  were  22.5% (R2= 0.255) and  3) the overweight students  found  that 19.35%.
