Abstract

T

This research aimed to study and compare Thailand’s 12 core values policy and Issarayanphasis from the Wannakadee Wijak textbook for grade 9 students. To complete this research, applied research methods were used by using document analysis as
a qualitative research, and the results were presented in a descriptive form. The results showed that Thailand’s 12 core values policy, which was issued by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Thailand Prime Minister, to strengthen Thailand as a whole, was an important tool in cultivating the values and ideology of Thai society. The values that appeared in Issarayanphasis from the Wannakadee Wijak textbook for grade 9 students that can be applied in daily life were: doing good, loyalty to the nation, religion and the monarchy, respect for national rules, conserving Thainess, gratitude to parents and teachers, and education. Values that were not appeared, or were inconsistent, maybe because the values of Thai society had changed over time and accordingly to the evolution of
the world.
