Laos country songs and constructing modernity

Abstract
This research was to examine the constructing modernity in Lao country songs. Research result showed that constructing modernity in Lao country songs could be divided into 3 issues as follows: communication technology, vehicle and urban society. This article demonstrated cultural diversity that affected Lao people today. The Laos country songs were a space for presenting a contemporary culture, popularity and acceptation of Lao society. Although modernity may be modified by the age but there was a unique, outstanding and changes based on the flow of culture.
