Abstract

          


This volume is the third  volume of first year, (September - December 2017), consists of six academic articles and  research papers as follows:


           Ghost Stories from Pantip.com: Ghost Narrative from Pantip.com: Communicative Context and Strategies  is an article that aims to study the context of ghost storytelling on Pantip.com including language strategies in telling ghost stories to create beliefs and feelings of fear and encourage them to follow.


         Attitudes towards New Age Women in a Male Dominated Structure as Appeared in Daonapha, a Thommayanti Novel is an article that aims to study the female protagonist in the novel "Dao Napa" in the context of Thai society that is regarded as male through feminist concepts and in the context of various situations how the female protagonists redress themselves or resist even an attempt to equalize a male.


        Strategies in Creating Humor in Isan Humorous Folktale: Old Monk and Young Novice is an article that aims to study the strategy of creating humor in Isan Folktale from 28 stories from 45 original stories, using the framework of the theory of creating humor and use of language to create humor in analysis. The results showed various ways of creating humor. Readers who are interested about creating humor should not miss.


       English Loanwords Perceived in King Chulalongkorn’s Letter is an article that focuses on the study of English loan techniques that appear in the royal text of King Chulalongkorn given to Her Royal Highness the Queen when the first trip to Europe in the year 1897, which is interested to find the phenomenon of borrowing English words to be used in the Thai language.


         Age of Speakers and Selection of Using First and Second Person Pronouns: A Comparative Study of Word Forms and Usage is an article that aims to study the form of the first and second person pronouns of the speaker at different ages and to compare the use of social factors of the first and second person pronouns of speakers of different ages, which is interesting that word form and usage based on social factors of first pronoun  and 2 pronoun in the same communication situation, speakers of different ages use different pronouns in terms of number, form, word and the frequency of word usage. It also reflects the tendency to use pronouns that choose to show respect and show less homogeneity.


         Book Review of Chakra Way: A Way of Chakkra: Travel to View the External World to Refine the Internal World is a book reveiw article that comes up and weaves it into thought of categories and then carefully examine each one of those masses deeply and wisely, invites the readers to follow the story and the implications of the issues to be combined from the beginning to the end . It can be considered as a research work on the quality literature that teachers of literary work should read and should be traced back to the source of the literary works (Sivakarn Pathumsoot).


    It is expected that the articles in this journal may help to broaden the perspective and various ideas of readers and interested parties as the case may be, and lead to the development of  academic works that may  be beneficial for others.
