Main Article Content
Abstract
This article intended to analyze the female characters in the novel ‘Phloeng Phrang Thian’ of Hassawee. The results of the study indicated that this novel presents a time travel storyline of a female character. It had implications for space and femininity in three areas: 1) Time Travel: Space and women's power 2) Women's spiritual connections 3) Time travel and rebellion to patriarchal power. The study revealed that the time-traveling representations of female characters with limitations implied control over the powers of women who acted or behaved outside of the norms of society which was difficult to control. It was a threat that threatened the rules of society. But the female characters tried to usurp the area to change their status to the action state by using sexual desire as the power to control men to act on women's desires.
