The development of learning Activities by using KWL Plus perspective to strengthen analysis reading capacity for Year 2 Secondary School in Lao PDR

Abstract

This research aims to 1) To develop a series of learning activities based on the KWL plus concept to enhance analytical reading ability for MathayomSuksa 2 students at Pakse Teachers College, Champasak Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. 2) To compare the analytical reading abilities of Mathayomsuksa 2 students before and after receiving the KWL Plus learning management technique; 3) To study Satisfaction of Mathayomsuksa 2 students towards learning management with KWL Plus technique


The sample group obtained by cluster sampling consisted of 30 Mathayomsuksa 2 students in the first semester of study 2564 of the Demonstration School. Pakse Teachers College junior high school The research tools were 1) 6 learning sets, 2) an achievement test. There were 30 questions to choose from (multiple choice), difficulty ranged from 0.27-0.68, discrimination between 0.32-0.82 and reliability was 0.85. 3) Student satisfaction questionnaire for using the 25-item learning set. There were 5 evaluation levels. The statistics used in the data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test.


The results showed that:


  1. 1. The efficiency of developing a series of learning activities based on the KWL Plus concept to enhance analytical reading ability. Secondary school year is 83.77/88.44, which is higher than the specified criteria.

  2. 2. The students' academic achievement after using the learning kit was significantly higher than before using the learning kit Stats at .05 level

  3. 3. The students had a high level of satisfaction with analytical reading
