Naming places in Cambodian tales through an eco-perspective

Abstract
This article aims to study the naming of places in Cambodian tales through an eco-perspective based on documentary study. Using the information of 10 Cambodian folk tales, translated into Thai by Prayoon Songsilp, published in the year B.E. 1997 from the Department of Thai Language Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Thonburi Rajabhat Institute, 9 volumes, the researcher selected only the topics related to the naming of places that appear in Cambodian tales. using the concept of eco-linguistics to analyze common place naming conventions Historical place names has a meaning about the physical characteristics and not physical. Therefore, the results of this following study found that Naming places in Cambodian tales through an ecological perspective consisted of 4 themes: 1) linking places with nature, 2) connecting names with historical sites, 3) connecting names with socio-cultural beliefs, and 4) naming places. with religious symbols reflect the value of historical events cultural society Local wisdom in society.
