Abstract

This academic journal, Wiwitwannasan, was the 3rd issue of the 6th year, (September-December, 2022) consisting of 9 academic articles and research articles, which were divided into 2 articles on analyzing language strategies, 4 articles on literary criticism, 2 articles on cultural studies and 2 tourism and 1 article on teaching Thai language. Two articles on analysis of language strategies were: An Analysis of Personification as a Rhetorical Device in the US Presidents' Speeches in Four Decades, was the analysis of language strategies used in the US President’s speeches during 1981-2021, in which the most used Rhetoric was the personification. A Comparative Study of Royal Writings of ‘Away from Home’ and ‘When I Departed from Siam to Switzerland’, which found that both were the same in terms of writing style, using imaginary and simile, whereas, the difference was a matter of time, social context and the age that affected the reflected worldview. Four articles on literary criticism were: Toponymy in Khmer Folk Tales: An Ecological Discourse Analysis, was attempting to associate the names of places in Khmer folklore that relate to humans and the environment. LGBTQ, Equality of Humanity, and SOGIE Discourse in Thai Society, was an attempt to study the state of LGBTQ sexual diversity, which meant L-Lesbian (women who like women together), G-Gay (people who like the same sex), B-Bisexual (people who like both men and women), T-Transgender (Gender-minded people) and Q-Queer (Genderless) These people need space and want to express themselves openly in a Thai society that was not yet ready to accept this diversity. Representation and Construction of Animals in Jadet Kamjorndet’s Collection of Short Stories of That Night of the Tiger and Other Animal Stories, which focused on the outstanding characteristics of short story creation strategies that won the SEA Write Award in 2020, in which the presentation technique was semiotics, representation, and constructions. The Crisis of Masculinity in a Collection of Short Stories, Sonthayasamoson, which focused on studies and reflected that the concept of male dominance being challenged by human beings other than men. Two articles on cultural and tourism studies were: Imagination of Ghost Masks in Buddhist Culture on Both Sides of the Mekong River, was the author's attempt to convey animistic culture through masks created in rituals, which existed under the Buddhist culture as the dominant area on both sides of the Mekong. Cultural Tourism in the New Dimension of the Floating Market Community in Bangkok Metropolitan was an effort to make culture and community wisdom valuable in terms of tourism. In addition, there was also one article on teaching-learning: The Development of Package of Learning Activities Based on the Concept of KWL Plus to Enhance Critical Reading Ability for Grade 8 Students in Lao People's Democratic Republic, which confirmed that teaching through seriously reliable theory, the learners naturally have higher learning achievements than traditional teaching.
