Reflection of European society in La Loubère Archives
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research article is to study the image of the West reflected in the archives of Simon de La Loubère, and the results of the study found that the archives reflect various aspects of the Western nations during that era. The Western nations valued scientific methods in pursuit of knowledge. They emphasized mathematics and mechanics, as well as the importance of cartography. The Western nations were advanced in the field of astronomy and placed great importance on the calendar. Education was highly valued in the Western nation's school system. Furthermore, the Western nations made significant advances in medical science. These reflections indicate that Europe has long been highly advanced in various scientific and technological fields, as a result of their cultural inheritance of knowledge in arts, science, and technology from Greece, which has been developed and used to create new knowledge.
