Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the nature and content of the presentation of clickbait news on Facebook pages by collecting data from 5 Facebook pages with more than 1 million followers. This research uses a conceptual framework of news elements by means of descriptive analysis. The results of the study can be divided into two areas: the characteristics of clickbait news and clickbait news content. In terms of the nature of clickbait news, there are 11 aspects: 1) freshness, 2) impact, 3) imminent, 4) important or celebrity, 5) conflict, 6) emotion. 7) Clue 8) Bizarre 9) Sexual 10) Change 11) Natural interest There are 4 types of clickbait news content: 1) headlines that are not relevant to the news content 2) headlines that correspond to some of the main points of the news. 3)The headline matches the point of the news content that is not important. 4)The headline matches the point of the news content but does not contain the details of the news. Clickbait is one of the strategies to analyze news to stay abreast of the social world and not fall victim to online news. Able to analyze and evaluate the credibility of information and how the news is objective. Distinguish facts from the opinions of those who write suggestive news. So you don't fall victim to clickbait news.
