Poetry in honor of His Majesty the King on the Year 2019 – 2020: Themes and Art of Literature Techniques

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to 1) analyze the content of the poetry in honor of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, 2) analyze the concepts of the poetry in honor of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, and 3) analyze the literary techniques in the poetry in honor of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn. The results were as follows:
- Regarding the content of the poetry in honor of His Majesty the King, the content related to royal duties, royal ceremonies, royal honor, royal benevolence, and royal conduct was found.
- Regarding the concepts of the poetry in honor of His Majesty the King, the concepts of the king as a divinity, the country leader, a person with legitimate power, a person who performs royal duties for the people, a person with virtues of the king (Dasapitarajadhamma), and a person with righteousness were found.
- Regarding the literary techniques in the poetry in honor of His Majesty the King, it was found that 3.1) the poetry forms were Klon, Klong, Chan, and Kavya, 3.2) the poetry techniques consisted of the use of rhyme, word choice, word repetition, and synonyms, and 3.3) the figurative language was in the form of figure of speech showing mercy, intuition, prestige, benevolence, and honor.
