THE PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE IN A 5-YEAR DEVELOPMENT PLAN OF TUMBON KAORUBCHANG ADMINISTRATIVEOGANIZATION, MUANG DISTRICT, SONGKHLA PROVINCE

Abstract

This thematic objects 1) to study the participation of people in a 5-year development plan and 2) learn problems and suggestions of the participation of people in a 5-year development plan. The sampling of the study was 380 people who live in Tumbon Kaorubchang, Muang District, Songkhla Province.The research has been done in the way of survey research with data instrument called questionnaires and data analysis has been done by computer application program with statistics instruments such as percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation.

          The research results revealed that :

1. 1. The overall participation in a 5-year development plan in 4 parts that is the participation in thinking, decision making, operating and following up which has been in low level. People’s participation of decision making in government occupation has been in medium level.


2. 2. Regarding to problems and suggestions. As for the problems, it was found that people lacked information regarding the making of the development plan. They did not know what they would gain from their participation. They did not realize the importance of participation nor understand the significance of development planning, and they do not have enough time to participation. The compiled suggestions were as follows : public relation should be made more robust to assure that everyone is informed about the participation. People should be informed of significance of their participation in development plan.
