POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF CITIZEN IN THE AREA OF BANPRU TOWNMUNICIPALITY HATYAI DISTRICT SONGKLA PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were as follows 1) To study the political participation of people in the area of MueangBanphru municipality, HatYai district, Songkhla province 2) To compare the political participation of people in the area of MueangBanphru municipality, HatYai district, Songkhla province in terms of sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupations and monthly incomes as differently and 3) To study the suggestions on problem and resolution the political participation of people in the area of MueangBanphru municipality, Hat Yai district, Songkhla province. The population werecomposed of people who live in the area of the area of MueangBanphru municipality, Hat Yai district, Songkhla province there are about 16,948 persons, sample size according toKrejcie and Morgan’s table measurement, the samples were about 375 persons, the instrument for data collection was questionnaire both closed – open ended questions, data analysis by package computer program, the statistics were analyzed as follows; frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t – test, F - test and to test the difference in each pair by Scheffemethod.

 The findings were as follow.

          1) The political participation of people in the area of MueangBanphru municipality Hat Yai district, Songkhla province by overview was at more level for all aspects when considered in each aspect found that the aspect of political news following was the highest mean and followed up the aspect of political culture and the aspect of political ideology on democracy and the aspect of election poll were the lowest mean respectively, classified in terms of sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupations, and monthly incomes found that there were at more level by overview.

          2) The comparative result on sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupation, and monthly income in terms of sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupations, and monthly incomes found that by including there were not different as statistically significance at 0.5

          3) The suggestions on problem and resolution on political participation of people in the area of MueangBanphru municipality, Hat Yai district, Songkhla province found that the aspect of political ideology on democracy was the highest frequency i.e. they have gotten the inability person to work in country development, international competition, the different between rich and poor people, corruption through patronage system, political value and political ideology were not perfect those because of political generation to next political generation. The resolution found that the aspect of political culture i.e. there should add more political curriculum in primary and high school, there should have specialist for publishing on political knowledge to people in the present time.
