MORAL AND ETHICAL PROMOTION FOR STUDENTS AT TRIAMUDOM SUKSA PATTANAKARN SURAT THANI SCHOOL

Abstract

The thesis aimed to study 1) moral and ethical promotion for students at Treamudom Suksa Pattanakarn Surat Thani School, 2) problems, obstacles, and solutions to promote morality and ethics for students in Treamudom Suksa Pattanakarn Surat Thani school, 3) guidelines to promote morality and ethics for students in Treamudom Suksa Pattanakarn Surat Thani school. This mixed research was composed of quantitative and qualitative research. For the quantitative research, the sample group was 191 people. The researchers determined the sample based on Krejcie and Morgan's prefabricated table. Data were analyzed using the application program, and the statistics applied for this research were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The data were collected through five key informants and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques for the qualitative research.

The results showed that;

1. Moral and ethical development for students at Treamudom Suksa Pattanakarn Surat Thani School in all six aspects was high.

2. The results in compiling the recommendations showed that problems and obstacles were from an aspect of Metta (kindness): lack of kindness for humans and animals and lack of compassion for others. The solutions were from the aspect of Metta: the students should be educated to have kindness and love for humans and animals.

3. Guidelines for moral and ethical promotion for students in Treamudom Suksa Pattanakarn Surat Thani school were as follows: the Buddhist principles should be applied for more promotion to make the students have good consciousness and inhibition, ashamed of their sins, and avoid evil doing. There should build and promote all disciplinaries to students to make them know their duties, cultivate consciousness for helping others, understand and be grateful to benefactors, and promote self-sacrifice to students to have the most social contribution.
