KARMA AND TRANSMIGRATION: THE KEYS DOCTRINE IN BUDDHISM

Abstract

This article aims to comprehend 1) the karma and the results of karma, 2) life after death in Buddhism's point of view, and 3) forms of existence in Buddhism doctrine. For this article, the writer referred to the data from the reliable Buddhism texts: Tripitaka, commentary, and the texts from Buddhism experts.

This article starts with the introduction of karma and the results of karma. Then it describes life after death from Buddhism's point of view. It discusses whether Buddhism believes in diminishing after death, whether there are some forms of existence for life after death or not, and what the real meaning of death in Buddhism doctrine is. Moreover, this article also suggests how to prepare to face death following the transmigration, the vital doctrine in Buddhism.
