Students’ Creative Problem Solving Competency

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop students’ creative problem solving competency indicator. The study was divided into 2 steps. Step 1: The context of teaching and learning in creative solving and connectivism theory were studied from the following target groups; 1) 6 teachers 2)107 Matthayomsuksa 3 students from Kor Wag Wittayakom school, Ban Nam Om school and Gud Nam Sai Jan Bok Noi school. In this part, the descriptive research methodology was applied. Step 2: The students’ creative problem solving competency indicator was created with the following target group; 5 experts in teaching and learning management which help improve the skills in Mathematics and Science, and the measurement and evaluation. In this part, the qualitative research methodology was applied. The study showed the results of the students’ creative problem solving competency indicator as follows: 1) the students could identify and link the elements of the situation that occurred. 2) the students could summarize the issues arising from the situation clearly 3) the students could brainstorm to find the new creative and different ways of solution. 4) the students could compare the effects of different solutions in order to decide on the solution that corresponded to the situation occurred. 5) the students could plan and determine solutions properly 6) the students followed the solving guidance that they created and could check and record the results properly.
