A Model for Enhancing Teacher Competency to Foster Innovative Characteristics in Science and Technology among Students of Princess Chulabhorn Science High School, Mukdahan

Abstract
This research aimed to develop a model for enhancing teacher competencies to foster scientific and technological innovator characteristics among students at Princess Chulabhorn Science High School, Mukdahan. The research methodology was divided into three phases: Phase 1 involved studying the current conditions, needs assessment, students' scientific and technological innovator characteristics, and approaches to enhance teacher competencies; Phase 2 focused on creating the model and accompanying implementation manual; and Phase 3 examined the effectiveness of implementing the model and manual. The research findings revealed that: 1) The developed model comprised principles, objectives, theoretical concepts, content, measurement and evaluation methods, and key success factors for model implementation; 2) The implementation manual consisted of an introduction, model description, implementation guidelines, and bibliography. Following the model implementation, results indicated that: 1) Teacher competencies increased in average scores across both core and functional competencies; 2) Students' innovator characteristics showed overall improvement in average scores; 3) Student characteristics aligned with the ideals of Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Mukdahan were rated at the highest level overall; 4) Students' academic achievement exceeded target values across all subject areas, and Ordinary National Educational Test (O-NET) scores surpassed national averages in all subjects; 5) Student projects resulting from the learning process received awards at international, national, and regional levels; and 6) Overall satisfaction with the model was rated at the highest level.
