Development Skill Training Sets For Excellence About Oil Pastel Painting of Grade 4 Students Using Davies’ Practical Skills Learning Model Together With 5’S Technique

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) develop a skill training set for excellence in oil pastel painting for grade 4 students, 2) study the learning management results by setting a target for students to have an average score of not less than 70 percent and have several students who passed the criteria of 70 percent or more, and 3) study the satisfaction of students towards learning management using the skill training set for excellence. The target group was 11th-grade 4 students at Khamkung Prachanukul School. The initial experimental research design was used. The research instruments were 6 basic art lesson plans, 12 hours, 6 sets of skill training sets for learning about oil pastel painting, performance evaluation forms, post-learning knowledge and understanding tests, and student satisfaction evaluation forms. The research results found that 1) the learning management results for visual arts in oil pastel painting for grade 4 students using the Davies practical skills learning management model combined with the 5’s technique were most appropriate, with an average score of 4.85. 2) The learning management results using the skill training set for excellence in oil pastel painting were most appropriate, with an average score of 4.85. By using Davies' practical skills teaching model combined with the 5'S technique, it was found that students achieved an average score of 8.95 points, accounting for 89.54%, which exceeded the specified criteria. It was also found that the average score of the post-learning knowledge and understanding test on chalk painting, 4-choice multiple-choice, 20 questions, had 11 students who passed the criteria, accounting for 100 percent of all students, with an average score of 17.72 out of 20 points, accounting for 88.63 percent of all students, which was higher than the specified criteria. 3) The results of the study of student satisfaction with the learning management using the Skills for Excellence training kit found that students were most satisfied with the clarity of the skill exercise descriptions, with an average score of 5.00, the flexibility of use, with an average score of 4.86, followed by the process and steps, with an average score of 4.85, the quality and content of teaching and learning, with an average score of 4.83, and the interestingness of the activities, with an average score of 4.71, indicating that the Skills for Excellence training kit was effective and promoted oil chalk painting skills.
