Creating a teaching kit to develop marching snare drum playing skills in the marching band of Jaengwitthaya School, Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province with the thinking process of an artist by an artist by Mr. Woraphon Phrommakom

Abstract

This research aims to create and study the effectiveness of a teaching set designed to develop marching snare drum playing skills in the band of Jaengwitthaya School, Muang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province, using the artist’s thinking process by artist Worapol Phromakham. The research was conducted as a mixed-method study, combining qualitative, quantitative, and experimental approaches, with one artist serving as the instructor for 2 months. The results showed that the students’ post-learning performance was 81.25%, which is higher than the hypothesis set at 80%. From the interviews with students, after learning through the artist’s thinking process in all 10 aspects, it was found that the advantages included direct learning from the artist, which allowed for quality advancement in a positive direction. The students expressed high satisfaction, with an overall satisfaction level of 4.30. The topic of Rhythm (Quarter note, Eighth note, 16th note) had the highest average satisfaction score of 4.75. In contrast, the topic of Accent (Accent tap, Grid) had an average of 4.00, indicating a high level of satisfaction. This is because the students learned the thinking methods, practice techniques, systematic thinking steps, and processes that can be applied effectively in the future.
