Creating a Wind Ensemble Practice Model Using on Southern Thai Music Soathong wittaya school,Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to develop a practice set for wind bands using Southern Thai folk songs, (2) to assess the effectiveness of the developed practice set based on the 80/80 criterion, and (3) to examine students’ satisfaction with the beginner-level wind band practice set using Southern Thai folk songs. The sample group consisted of 20 students from the wind band of Saothong Wittaya School, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included: (1) a wind band practice set using Southern Thai folk songs, (2) six evaluation forms for assessing the practice set’s effectiveness in skill development, and (3) a student satisfaction questionnaire. The statistical analyses used were mean, standard deviation, percentage, content validity index, and efficiency assessment. The results indicated that the wind band practice set using Southern Thai folk songs was highly appropriate, with a mean score of 4.80 and a standard deviation of 0.19. The efficiency of the practice set (E1/E2) was 81.20/82.33, meeting the predetermined 80/80 criterion. Additionally, student satisfaction with the learning process using the practice set was at the highest level, with a mean score of 4.79 and a standard deviation of 0.42.
