Assessment of the Level and Comparison of Operations Based on Community Enterprise Development Guidelines among Golden Apple Snail Farmers in Non Khong Subdistrict, Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

This research serves as a prototype for understanding the potential and challenges in the development of community enterprises, to strengthen the grassroots economy sustainably. Research Objectives: 1) To study the level of operations based on the community enterprise development guidelines among golden apple snail farmers in Non Khong Subdistrict, Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen Province; and 2) To compare the operations based on the community enterprise development guidelines among golden apple snail farmers in Non Khong Subdistrict, Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen Province. This study employed a quantitative research approach using a census survey of the entire population, consisting of 108 entrepreneurs in the Golden Apple Snail Community Enterprise Group. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics to test the hypotheses through Independent Sample t-test and One-way ANOVA. Research Findings: 1) The overall level of operations based on the community enterprise development guidelines was high. The highest mean score was in the area of knowledge management, while the lowest was in capital and financial management; and 2) The comparison revealed that entrepreneurs with different age groups and monthly income levels showed statistically significant differences in capital and financial management at the 0.05 level. This research has yielded new empirical knowledge indicating that entrepreneurs aged 51–60 years and those with higher incomes performed better in capital and financial management than other groups. These are specific findings that can be further applied to the design of targeted and effective promotional policies.
