Khon Learning Media for the New Generation: Multi-Sensory Presentation with Baked Goods and Edible Khon Cookies
Main Article Content
Abstract
Multisensory learning is crucial in creating a practical learning experience, as it enables learners to receive information from multiple sensory channels simultaneously, thereby building a deeper and more comprehensive understanding through various senses, including sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. Multisensory learning plays a vital role in stimulating interest and helping learners retain information more effectively, as the simultaneous involvement of multiple senses helps to strengthen connections between new information and existing knowledge. Meanwhile, incorporating multisensory experiences into food and promoting cultural heritage can create meaningful learning experiences. In the case of edible Khon pastries and cookies, which are good examples of using multisensory, the sense of touch from the shape and texture of the pastries, the sense of taste from the food, and the sight of the decoration or design of the pastries help learners learn about Khon culture. They can experience and understand it through participating in activities. Using edible Khon pastries and cookies as a means of cultural communication enables learners to understand and experience the diversity and significance of Khon culture in the present day.
