Academic Management to Improve the Effectiveness of the School in Primary School under the Krabi Local Administrative Organization

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) examine the academic administration in primary schools governed by local administrative organizations in Krabi Province and 2) provide guidelines for academic administration to enhance academic achievement in these schools. The study involved a sample of 169 teachers from primary schools and included interviews with six administrators. The findings revealed that, overall, the performance in all areas of academic administration was rated highly. The aspects were ranked from highest to lowest as follows: measurement and evaluation, teaching and learning management, academic planning, and administration and supervision of teaching and learning. Key academic administration guidelines to improve academic achievement include: 1) Academic Planning: Administrators should promote effective academic planning and curriculum development aimed at fostering the holistic development of students encompassing physical, mental, intellectual, knowledge, and moral growth. 2) Teaching and Learning Management: Administrators must enhance learning management and ensure inclusive planning that addresses the needs of all student groups. 3) Procurement of Learning Resources: Administrators should establish policies and plans for the acquisition and advancement of learning materials and educational technology within educational institutions. 4) Measurement and Evaluation: Administrators need to prioritize measurement and evaluation by overseeing, monitoring, and preparing educational documents in accordance with established measurement and evaluation regulations.
