Abstract

Present, the instruction aims to develop students' competency. The development of competency through curriculum, at the same time, the core curriculum of Thailand Need to improve to competency-based curriculum. So, this leads to this academic article titled                            “Core curriculum to competency based curriculum” This academic article aims to Analyzing, synthesizing, and present point of view for knowledge the concept of competency, curriculum, core curriculum, competency based curriculum and compare the information of the two curriculum to create a clear understanding from academic papers through content analysis.                   It was found that the competency was knowledge, ability, skills and attitudes in latent attributes of the person. It can to develop through instruction. At the same time, the core curriculum has competency definition but focus content, instruction clear framework and there are several levels of measurement and evaluation. The competency based curriculum Improved from the core curriculum. There was a framework for practice, less content, instruction and measurement and evaluation on competency. However, tow curriculums have some parts in common and mostly different.
