This study aimed to examine the effects of soft skills development through general education courses on the work readiness of students at Nakhon Phanom University. A quantitative research design was employed. The sample consisted of 352 students from Nakhon Phanom University. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that leadership skills, adaptability skills, work ethics skills, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills had significant effects on students’ work readiness. In contrast, lifelong learning and information management skills and communication skills did not have a direct effect on work readiness. In addition, gender and age were found to have no effect on work readiness. The findings provided empirical evidence on the role of general education courses in developing soft skills that enhanced students’ work readiness. The results could be used as guidelines for curriculum development, instructional design, and the organization of co-curricular activities to strengthen graduates’ competencies and attributes in alignment with labor market demands and long-term national development.
