Thai dance and recreation activities for elementary school children

Thai dance was both science and art that were Thai identity since ancient times. Thai dance was the performance that represented the culture of Thai people in the past. It was often shown in the amusement or the carnival that was held in the royal court and the festival celebrations. Nowadays, there is a specific teaching of Thai dance which teach both the theory and practice, but youth pay attention to other disciplines more because learning Thai dance is quite difficult and boring especially the dance with a slow rhythm. Therefore, people who will be able to learn and succeed in learning Thai dance must have the patience and the intention that really want to learn. For this reason, it is necessary to arrange teaching interesting by using recreational activities in the teaching such as games or other activities. The recreational activities that will be used in the teaching must choose to suit with the ages of the primary student and the contents of subject. Learning through the recreational activities will make students interested in Thai dance and would like to learn more. Moreover, recreational activities are also useful for students in many aspects as follows: 1.) Physical Development, 2.) Emotional Development, 3.) Cognitive Development and 4.) Social Development. In addition, the students can also apply these benefits in their daily life.
