Grosse Fuge for Flute, Clarinet, Cello and Double Bass

Abstract

This independent study of “Grosse Fuge for Flute, Clarinet, Cello and Double Bass” aims to analyze Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge and to create the new composition. However, the scope is extended to Free atonal, Serial music, but keep the methods of composition from Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge Grosse Fuge for Flute, Clarinet, Cello and Double Bass consists of 7 section; 1st section has theme I-V and the second has theme VI after that 2nd-7th section have brought them to develop by Imitation, Canon, Sequence, Inversion, Cantus Firmus Variation, Thematic variation, Rhythmic pattern and Extension of theme etc. Including the main relationship of pitch class set is (016)
