Western Musical System

Abstract

Western music system of each era is different from one another in the sense of melody, harmony, etc. Thus, in order to analyze the music of a specific era, we need to consider its social context and apply appropriate theories according to its time. In this article, western music system, music eras and music theories suitable for analyzing music compositions in each period are mentioned in general as a guideline for those interested in pursuing further studies in the field.
