Abstract

This research aims to study the process of teaching and choosing a violin textbook that suit 3-6 year old student. Moreover, this research also studies on problem and solution that occur during the class by interview 5 expert violin teachers, non-formal education, who has an experience to teach 3-6 year old student. From the study, the researcher has been found 1) Teachers place important on Student’s information, giving an information about objective and goal to parents, Teaching plan suit appropriate with boy and girl student, choosing an exercise, adapting a teaching behavior and creating a student’s attention in class. 2) Each teacher has a different way to choose an exercise to fit with the student’s age and progression. 3) There are 3 major problems that happen during a teaching process which are student lack of cooperation in class, parent misunderstand about teaching system and student has less concentrate in class. 4) The solution from a previous problem can be solved by using a VDO to attract a student, make a friendship to a student, educated the parent to understand a teaching system and make a short in teaching process with a variety of activities.
