Abstract

This academic article focuses on documenting the work process and extracting knowledge to highlight key components in creating community-based performing arts festivals and the interconnection between various sectors. It aims to provide guidelines for creating art festivals that respond to community needs, foster participation, and build working networks, using the 'Samyan La-lan Jai Festival' as a case study.

The creative process reveals that beyond management knowledge, understanding the area's characteristics and community specifics is crucial in designing festivals and activities that align with the local context. Success requires a strong network of collaborators sharing a vision of collective thinking, creation, and development to achieve sustainable operations. These processes need time and understanding of the importance of cultural and artistic activities that aim not only for economic outcomes but also consider social value simultaneously.
