THE ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF BEETHOVEN’S SYMPHONY No. 7 FOR HARMONIE

The research article is a part of the research entitled The Analysis and Interpretation of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 for Harmonie in 1816 by anonymous arranger, which aims to analyze and interpret in three points including 1) Score orientation: formal design, tempo, and key and time signature 2) Main music elements: Form, Melody and Harmony 3) the Arrangement.
Research has shown that the piece has 4 movements in key signature of G major. The first movement in G major is structured in sonata form. The second movement was composed in G minor is structured in five-part rondo form. The third movement was composed in F major is structured in Scherzo-trio form. The final movement is in the main key signature (G major) and the structure is in sonatina form. The score was arranged of a desiring sound mostly compared with the original orchestra score. Since the Harmonie has no flute, trumpet and strings. The arranger decided to use oboe replaced flute, horn for trumpet and use clarinet, bassoon, and contra bassoon for strings.
