Keywords:
Latin Dance, Choreography, Fusion DanceAbstract
This research aims to study modern dance techniques and apply the results of the analysis to create dance performances that combine Latin dance with elements of modern dance using qualitative and operational research methods. The results from the creative process and public performances are summarized in the research results. It begins with a study of the technical elements and unique styles of Rumba dance using documentary research, studies Graham dance techniques in modern dance through comparative research, and integrates the technical elements and expression styles of both dances to create a theoretical foundation through case study analysis and applies them in practice to design and create a dance drama performance. The research results show that the main direction for integrating Latin dance with modern dance is to apply dance language while adhering to Latin dance rhythms, which have the function of connecting the performance to proceed harmoniously and sequentially. Breathing techniques are the basic factors and the main source of the integration process between Latin dance and modern dance. Integrating
Latin dance with modern dance techniques can increase the expression in Latin dance performances, resulting in deeper and more diverse meanings.
