ART-BASED EXHIBITION DESIGN FOR THE REVITALIZATION AND VALUE CREATION OF CULTURAL CAPITAL: A CASE STUDY OF THE EASTERN CENTER OF ARTS AND CULTURE, BURAPHA UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The article is part of research titled "A Study of Burapha University's Cultural Capital for Tourist Attraction Development" aims to create a model that enhances the university's cultural capital through various activities. This study employs an artistic research methodology, utilizing academic documents and questionnaires to analyze relevant data. It uses purposive sampling techniques to identify elements of cultural capital that can inspire and guide the development of a prototype cultural tourism site at Burapha University. The findings resulted in the creation of an exhibition titled "Wipit Burapha" as a key activity to elevate the value of cultural capital. This process involved examining the exhibition space, content, visual artifacts, problem selection, and
the design of sensory touchpoints for effective communication. The outcome was an audio-visual exhibition under the theme "TIMELESS HARMONIES" which explores the concepts of time and beauty. The exhibition design incorporated theories of perception, design principles, and performance direction. This initiative establishes the Eastern Center of Arts and Culture's history and archaeology exhibition area as a new cultural tourism destination.
