INTERPRETATION AND EXPLANATION OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPOSITION: DURIYASIRAWAT RACHASADUDEE COMPOSED BY SAKCHAI CHAROENSUKSANAN

Abstract

This article analyzes and describes the performance methods of "Duriyasirawat Ratchasudee," a musical composition by Sakchai Charoensuksanan, with lyrics by Assistant Professor Chaluay Mongkol. This piece was inspired by the poem "Arsirawat Ratchasudee," composed in 2019 to honor His Majesty King Rama X, and was subsequently released by the Burapha University Wind Symphony in 2024. The primary objective is to study the piece as a musical accompaniment to poetic recitation and to generate knowledge regarding musical performance. This article emphasizes the analysis, interpretation, and explanation of performance methods from a conductor's perspective, expanding on three main concepts from the composer: Fanfare, the use of Ambient Sound during poetic recitation, and Wind Symphony Fanfare in Praise. These elements aim to deepen the meaning and emotion of the poem through the music. The research methodology includes analyzing the musical structure, interpreting musical symbolism, analyzing harmonies, and describing appropriate performance techniques for each instrument group. The findings indicate a strong concordance between the language of the poetry and the music. The three core concepts significantly enhance the meaning and emotion of the poem. This interpretation and performance design elevate the composition's artistic value and create
concrete knowledge regarding the preparation of such musical pieces. In conclusion, "Duriyasirawat Ratchasudee" seamlessly blends the beauty of poetry with the power of wind orchestra music. This study is beneficial for conductors, musicians, and those interested in hybrid musical forms, serving as a guideline for interpreting contemporary compositions and an honorable tribute.
