HANDMADE INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THAI CLASSICAL DANCE EDUCATION

Abstract

This academic article focuses on the following key areas: the concept of handmade media in developing dance education, its importance, various types of handmade media for dance instruction, methods for applying it, case studies and results from its use, future development guidelines, and the benefits of handmade media for improving teaching efficiency and student learning outcomes. The author's interest in this topic arose after participating in a 6-hour professional teacher training program and practicum. This experience highlighted the challenges and limitations of technology access, which can negatively impact student learning. This observation led the author to recognize the importance of handmade media, particularly for students in remote areas with limited access to technology or essential teaching tools. Handmade media also allows for flexible and creative design that can be freely adapted to meet specific learning objectives. Furthermore, the subject of Thai classical dance requires effective methods to impart foundational knowledge so that students can understand and perform correctly according to traditional Thai dance practices. This is crucial for students to gain a deeper understanding of this valuable national cultural heritage.
