THEATRE FOR DEVELOPMENT IN URBAN AREA FOR CHILDREM IN BAN TOONG YAI, SONGKHRA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to organize activities to encourage the target group of children to recognize social problems and jointly find solutions to such problems, and to present dramas reflecting social problems to the public. The target group was 6 children in Ban Tung Yai area. The qualitative research method was used. The research instruments were participant observation, interviews, and assessments. There were 2 groups of people who were interviewed and completed the assessment: 1. community leaders in Ban Tung Yai area, 6 people 2. The population in Ban Tung Yai area, 15 people. The researcher went to the field to collect data on the issues of people in the Ban Tung Yai community, Songkhla Province. To use the data to design a community development drama process that was used to organize activities with the target children in 11 sessions. It was found that all children in the target group saw the importance of the waste problem in their community. Children were inspired to change their community for the better, by finding solutions to problems together and courageously creating change together, it reflects that the target children see their own value and the value of their community. They therefore want to take care of their community and expect everyone in the community to jointly take care of it in a tangible and sustainable way.
