Abstract

The creation of music and dramatic arts to responded the aesthetics of life. It shows the intelligence of all Ethnicities. The development of music and dramatic arts changed according to time and occasion. Music and dramatic arts have dynamic all the time. Music and dramatic arts in I-san region, the land that people live since prehistoric age, nowadays the northeastern part of Thailand called “I-san”.  The creation of music and dramatic arts of I-san people found the traces from archaeological evidence such as the cave paintings or pieces of antiques that found in I-san region.
The music and dramatic arts of I-san reflected the belief of mysterious power and the belief that transferred from generation to generation. The belief influenced by Buddhism, Brahmanism, ghost and mysterious power that created music and dramatic arts of I-san people, so I-san people praised that as teacher.
The successors and performers must pray respect and be grateful to teacher also asked for blessing to the successful while performing. The praise ceremony of music and dramatic arts of I-san called “York Or Yor Kai.” Therefore the story of York Or Yor Kai reflected the attitude of music and dramatic arts of I-san people that dynamic and changes from the past to present times. This research decoded the knowledge and studies the stories from the past and linked with music and dramatic arts of I-san people in present time, that can use as a source for the future creation.
