Main Article Content
Abstract
As a result of the main problem of many lumber factories that produce door and window frames often face similar problems. Residual waste from production whether it is hardwood, softwood or even medium wood. The more time passes, the discarded wood will pile up and reduce working space. The easiest way might be to sell below cost, to increase the working area. However, how to get a rid of these scraps wood and how to get the most benefit? Adding products is another channel that can expand the business. It may be called using “business to solve problems”. The main objective of this research was to find an idea to use scrap wood to create new products. What should we use scraps wood for? Which technique is better? The process started from sorting wood types, sizes of all available wood for testing. In this research, three experimental methods were selected: bonding with latex glue, bonding with male and female dowels and resin bonding. It was found that joining wood with a dowel requires a large size of wood to join together because it has to go into the dowel machine. The resin bonding has disadvantages in terms of poor adhesion of wood, lack of strength. With regard to the bonding with latex glue, there are almost no disadvantages and it is suitable for factory scraps wood. The bonding uses a special urea-formaldehyde-free glue, safe and non-toxic that is harmful for consumers. The principle of proper wood bonding must be uncomplicated methods, not many tools, strong, beautiful, low cost and the technique of wood bonding with latex glue can also be used to create food trays, coasters, and knife holders.
