Qiao Pi, a Literary Record of the Culture of the Teochew Chinese in Thailand

Abstract

          This study aims to investigate the social reactions of Teochew Chinese immigrants to Thailand through the Qiaopi culture. collect books and documents by Lin Qingxi, and preserve the "Qiaopi Letter" at the Qiaopi Cultural Relics Museum. In Shantou City, Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China, there are a total of 30 studies. The research results reflect eight aspects of society: family, gratitude, generosity, frugality, profession, economy, feng shui beliefs, and New Year traditions. Qiaopi's letter clearly reflects the Teochew people's views on family, respecting elders, non blood relatives, and respecting their own relatives. Qiaopi culture reflects the family system of Teochew people living together as a big family, respecting half blood relatives. The role and responsibility of the family.
