Guidelines for the Administration of Student Affairs to Development Life Skills for Student Base on Four Noble Truths of Plaiprayawittayakom School under the Trang-Krabi Secondary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

             The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the state of the Administration of Student Affairs at Plaiprayawittayakom School, under the Trang-Krabi Secondary Educational Service Area Office, 2) to study the guidelines for the Administration of Student Affairs to develop students’ life skills according to the Four Noble Truths, and 3) to present guidelines for the Administration of Student Affairs to develop students’ life skills according to the Four Noble Truths. This research uses a qualitative research design. In-depth interviews were used as the research tool. There were 15 key informants in the state. 5 experts drafted the guidelines, and 7 experts participated in group discussions, and presented the results using an inductive method.
             The research results showed that:
             1. The state of Administration of Student Affairs at Plaiprayawittayakom School still lacks systematic work development, lacks continuity in planning, lacks participation in analyzing strengths and weaknesses, including using data from monitoring and evaluation to develop work, therefore not knowing the real problems, and making solutions that do not reflect the real state.
             2. The guidelines for the administration of student affairs to develop students’ life skills according to the Four Noble Truths consist of 6 steps: 1) planning, 2) operation, 3) promotion of discipline, morality, and ethics, 4) student care and support system, 5) promotion of democracy, and 6) evaluation by applying the principles of the Four Noble Truths, including Dukkha (problem identification), Samudaya (finding the causes), Nirodha (goal setting and results), and Magga (problem solving) through real practice, monitoring, and evaluation to develop 4 life skills, including 1) self-awareness and valuing oneself and others, 2) critical thinking for decision-making, and creative problem-solving, 3) emotional and stress management, and 4) building good relationships with others.
             3. In presenting guidelines for the administration of student affairs to develop students’ life skills according to the Four Noble Truths, the experts expressed that the guidelines are achievable, appropriate, and beneficial. A relationship exists in the administration of student affairs according to the Four Noble Truths to develop students' life skills tangibly and systematically.
